They did it! On Sunday 20th May our team collectively ran 65 miles in support of the Arcola young people's programmes. Thanks to each one of you who donated here, supported and cheered them up throughout their challenge. 

We have now funded 16 out of the 20 bursaries and want to leave this page active in the hope of reaching the £4,500 mark before the begining of June. 

On behalf of the whole Arcola team THANK YOU for helping us make this a reality. We look forward to welcome the young theatre makers at the theatre, from September 2018 onwards.

Arcola staff, supporters and community members are coming together to run the Hackney Half Marathon, raising funds to enable twenty underprivileged young people to join our Youth Theatre with full bursaries.

We believe that arts and culture should be accessible to everyone, no matter their financial position; and that taking part in a creative activity has the potential to radically transform young people’s lives for the better.

Every year, Arcola’s Participation department provides over 11,000 opportunities for people of all ages to get creative, in Hackney and beyond.

With the help of trained professionals, the Arcola Youth Theatre introduces those between 9 and 20 to the thrills of theatre making, encouraging the development of their original ideas in a supportive and collaborative environment.

We are running the Hackney Half to extend this amazing opportunity to young people who may not otherwise be able to take part.

By contributing to our £4,500 target, you will be supporting full bursaries for twenty young people to join the Youth Theatre for a year. The benefits may be felt for many years to come.
